About Ernesto

I’m a social worker and AI developer with nearly three decades of experience in human services. As one of the few social work practitioners applying AI to social work and education before it was widely adopted, I engaged in early, trailblazing work focused on building practical, responsible, and ethical systems grounded in frontline practice and public-sector accountability.

As CEO of Kool Arrow Solutions, LLC, I focus on creating AI-powered products that protect clients, support frontline staff, and reduce burnout – not replace human relationships. My work combines real-world social work experience, policy and ethics, and hands-on AI development.

Today my work centers on:

• Designing AI assistants that help mandated reporters, social workers, and educators navigate complex, high-risk scenarios.

• Supporting schools, districts, agencies, and universities as they modernize practice while staying grounded in equity, ethics, and client safety.

I’m especially interested in collaborating with:

• Organizations and agencies exploring Social Work + AI

• Organizations that want AI tools designed by people who actually understand social work on the frontlines, not just tech teams

If you’re exploring how to bring AI into social work or education in a practical, responsible, and ethical way, I’d love to connect.

The Social Work Lens

How social work shapes my work in technology

I have spent nearly 30 years as a practicing social worker, primarily in child welfare. I build the tools you find at Social Work Magic, drawing on what those decades of practice have taught me about what social workers actually need.

I believe practitioners who carry heavy emotional and relational responsibility deserve technology that sees them and supports them with the same intentionality they bring to the people they serve.

For more than a decade I had been thinking about what it would look like for technology to actually support practitioners in the way practitioners actually need. When AI became capable enough to make this a reality, I stopped waiting for someone else to build it.

The tools at Social Work Magic are built from inside the work. They're designed around how social workers actually think, document, and make decisions. They are grounded in NASW ethics and in a framework I developed called the 8 Pillars of Ethical AI Use.

A small team supports this work in different ways as it grows. This is not a venture-backed startup. It is a small, independent operation built with care, based on a long career in practice that bridges social work and technology.
