How social work shapes my work in technology

Twenty years of discharge planning taught me that the gap between a good plan and a good outcome is where families actually live — and where most technology fails them. I build from that vantage point: every product starts with a real family's Tuesday afternoon, not a feature list. And I carry a social worker's reminder into every design decision — in the service of others, do not become a disservice to yourself — so my tools lighten the caregiver's load instead of adding to it.
